The BAS Story begun a long time ago, when two young, lil' Puerto Rican kids, Joe Bonilla and Joe Alindato, played in the back of St. Patrick's Church in Albany, New York in 1989. What they didn't know at the time, due to they were between three and four, was that they were both destined to cross paths later in life.

Fast forward nearly a decade later, when Alindato went to Livingston and knew of a strapping young lad named Antwuan Sims. They knew of each other, but nothing clicked then. Bonilla, at the time, attended St. Teresa of Avila, and if it wasn't for him not ending up at Albany High instead of Bishop Maginn, probabely this would not have been written. He met Alindato again in 2000, not finding out until later that they actually played as kids. They would know each other throughout high school. Bonilla would become a backpack retailer, selling sodas, candy, and even cell phones during the hours of 9 and 3. He also had a tabloidic newspaper, called The.Cut.

Sims would come into play when Bonilla had Architecture (under the teachings of one Mr. Guenther) in senior year. They, too, would become friends. Sims and Bonilla would travel to Montreal and other destinations that summer after graduating from high school. After that summer, Bonilla and Alindato would go to HVCC, while Sims, making something of himself, attended SUNY Buffalo.

A year would pass, and Bonilla would find himself in a position of leadership as Vice President of the school's Student Senate. In the winter of 2005, Alindato and Bonilla decided to form an alternative newspaper entitled The Valley Voice. It debuted on January 23rd, 2006 in both Albany and Troy.

The newspaper had 10 continuously-run issues, eventually subsiding due to printing cost concerns, but the websites stayed intact.

That fall, Antwuan would join the two Joes, forming the pre-incorporated BASKnickerbocker in September 2006. Officially incorporating in November of 2006, BASKnickerbocker Inc. has been a growing leader in technology and entertainment innovation.
